is talking about Steve Camp again. One could only imagine in his mind Pastor Steve Camp now finding his own celebrity resurrection, and how. A cursory regard of his facebook fan page below gives a hint as do the many blogs and videos on thecrosschurch website (see video above).
Premonition or Primer?
It is unclear exactly when Casey Anthony first came to stay at The Cross Church campus or how she was introduced. However, there is anecdotal evidence from as far back as May 2011 that Pastor Steve may have been preparing his congregation for her arrival. In a sermon on the topic of “redemption,” Camp chides his flock for judging others for their pre-Christian actions by asking, “Have we forgotten what we were like before we tasted the kindness of God in Christ? (…) how we were slaves to lust and passion (…) how depraved we were and to what depth of disobedience we plummeted?”
Can Casey be restored?
Pastor Steve’s, “Camp On This” blogfeatures an enlightening section describing practice of discipline within the church and the uncompromising demand that forgiveness can only come after full repentance, not only to God but to everyone involved. He writes “the scope of one’s influence demands the scope of one’s repentance.”
For Casey Anthony, that process might take the better part of her life. The process, called Restoration, seems to come with a zero tolerance policy. Camp explains that failure to comply could result in excommunication, or the protestant equivalent. It is certainly hard to imagine that Casey would ever stipulate to any of those conditions therefore it is only a matter of time before Casey is again making news, kicking up a mess of drama, somewhere else. Why? Because we allow it. In the meantime, as much as Casey Anthony has found her self becoming a much maligned celebrity, Pastor Steve Camp on the other hand may have only just begun his ascent…
