As the psychological make up of Adam Lanza begins to make itself increasingly evident it is now being learned that the 20 year old man harbored a deep reluctance to leave his home and venture out into the world.
Tells a source to the nydailynews: “He sat in his room playing video games for hours and hours. She (Nancy) thought the best thing was for him to get out of the house and into the world. To interact with people a little bit.”
Then this disturbing revelation:
But the 20-year-old rejected the idea and stopped speaking to his mother, the friend said. Nancy Lanza and her youngest son hadn’t talked for three days before he fatally shot her Friday morning and then murdered 20 children and six staffers at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Nancy Lanza had brought her son to a psychiatrist as he became increasingly anti-social — spending endless hours in his room by himself.
Pressed about the idea of leaving, the young man according to the source ‘was like a ghost.’ Instead refusing to leave with the source going on to say:
“He didn’t understand why she wanted him to go out into the world. She told me she couldn’t reach him — and she was worried.”
Asked if there ever was a hint of violence the source responds the following:
“He would start yelling and stuff like that,” the source said. “He would never hit her. He would just act like a child when he got mad. That’s what she told me.”
Although she hadn’t set a deadline for her son to move out Nancy Lanza was becoming increasingly distressed with her son who increasingly retreated from the word and refused to engage it. Instead choosing to commit himself in his windowless basement where he played violent video games.
One possible theory now gaining ground as to what finally preempted Adam Lanza was his fear that his mother may commit him as even she may have communicated her disillusion to her son. Of course the young man only perceived that as a further negation of his being and the complete alienation of his family after his father Peter and brother Ryan now no longer living home had ostensibly cut off ties with the young man.
