Social Life Magazine honors Russell Simmons.

After attending the majorly diminished Bridgehampton Polo (not the same since Mercedes bailed) , we hit the Social Life Magazine House for a fete honoring cover boy Russell Simmons. Affable publisher Justin Mitchell and Editor in Chief Devorah Rose greeted us warmly and steered our posse to the Porsche Design display where we pandered for a pair of stylish sunglasses.

Sipping superb Henriot Champagne (a big step up from the usual prosecco), we swanned around the soiree ogling the attractive crowd and devouring delectable tuna tartare over avacado and savory smoked salmon sandwiches.

Faux pas alert, we mistook action flick director Brett Ratner for portly restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow (perhaps switching to absinthe was not a good idea). Ratner was politely confused when we complimented him on his amazing food.

The evening also honored the Somaly Mam foundation a worthy organization that saves southeast Asian women and children from sexual slavery. Perhaps they should open a Hamptons branch.
