A 53-year-old Philadelphia area woman who was was last seen alive Saturday morning was found murdered Sunday afternoon.
Ivelisse Lugo, of Lawncrest, was discovered ‘wrapped in a blanket and towel with a stab wound to the back,’ just on 4.30p.m, Sunday afternoon, Philadelphia Police said.
The victim was found hours after her daughters filled a missing report for their mother.
Estranged husband possible murder suspect
‘The scene was secured; no arrest were made at this time, and no weapon was recovered,’ Philadelphia police said. ‘The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives.’
It is thought that Lugo may have been with her estranged husband before going missing. At some point on Saturday, Lugo’s daughters sought to find their mother, including knocking on neighbors doors, asking if anyone had seen her, WCAU reported.
It wasn’t until cops returned to the residence on Sunday, that they made the macabre discovery.
Police said the victim had been stabbed multiple times, stating, ‘it appeared the killer had attempted to clean up the scene.’
Police declined to say if they suspected her estranged husband.
The spouse is understood to be driving a 2006 Chevy Express van with Pennsylvania license plate #ZRR-4023 and a cross on the rear door.
While cops declined to publicly identify the spouse, social media identified the man as Miguel Aguilar.
Where is murder victim’s estranged husband?
Lugo’s brother, cousins and police say they do not know where her estranged husband of five years is — despite trying to get in contact with him.
The man’s whereabouts was not immediately clear.
‘They were great people. They were nice. The crime doesn’t fit them. I can say that,’ a neighbor told NBC10.
Investigators said that they are reviewing surveillance footage from the area to learn more about what may have happened in this case.
Police are asking the public to contact them with any tips relating to the case. They are offering a $20,000 reward for information that results in an arrest and conviction. Tipsters can call or text 215-686-TIPS.
