When gruesome reality becomes the preferred reality.
There’s a new sport over there in France that they’re all playing now- it’s called “lets watch how Jean-Pierre Treiber gets away with being a felon on the run. “
A sport normally dominated by America and other gauche-loving venues, the manhunt for Treiber is inspiring wonder and of course a media frenzy. The police have, as of right now, failed to capture Treiber, and are now blaming media for their inability to capture Treiber (who it seems is ruefully taunting authorities and having the time of his life somewhere in the woods). What makes this case interesting is that although Treiber currently is incarcerated, he has not been brought to trial for supposedly killing Géraldine Giraud and Katia Lherbier. He was seen using their credit cards after the time of their disappearance and deaths. Treiber, through his girlfriend with whom he has been maintaining a correspondence, maintains his innocence and aims to show the public that he is indeed innocent. Innocent or not, the French are spellbound. If only more escaped, accused, double murderers could be as entertaining. France gripped by hunt in woods for escaped double murder suspect
