Call it a situation of being at the right place at the right time but one police officer this evening, James Kneipp, can certainly hold their head up high after coming to the assistance of one woman who suddenly went into labor whilst picking up a bite at McDonald’s.
At the very moment the woman was going into labor, a patron came out onto the street looking for assistance, and that’s when officer Kneipp happened to be driving by the Newark, NJ McDonald’s.
huffpo: “I thought it was being held up,” Kneipp said, according to NBC New York. “Then when they got to my vehicle, they yelled out, ‘There’s a woman inside who just went into labor!'”
Kneipp sprung into action and successfully delivered the baby boy.
“I found the lady on the floor of the bathroom and did what I was taught to do in the police academy,” Kneipp told West Ward Patch. “I saw the baby’s head and simply maneuvered the child’s body to a position where the mother was able to easily deliver.”
The moral of the lesson? Just when you think you are destined to give birth all by yourself on a McDonald’s lavatory floor something called divine intervention raises its strange head and further complicates the notion you thought you had life figured out…
