Brianna Aguilera Texas A&M student found dead wasn’t an accidental death claims sophomore’s mom, Stephanie Rodriguez who believes 19-year-old teen girl may have been pushed to her death.
The mother of a Texas A&M student found dead over the weekend has claimed that her 18 year-old daughter’s death was not accidental. This despite authorities initially claiming that they suspect no foul play.
Brianna Aguilera a 19-year-old Laredo native and Aggie sophomore, was discovered deceased outside an apartment building by Austin Police in the early hours of Saturday morning.
In a release, the Austin Police Department stated the Texas A&M student had died hours after attending a tailgate party in Austin following her home team the Aggies playing the Longhorns
How did Texas A&M student end up falling 17 stories to her death?
Aguilera was found unresponsive female at an apartment in the 2100 block of Rio Grande Street, just west of the UT campus. Officers pronounced her dead at the scene at 12:57am, KBTX reported.
While Austin police did not release information on the circumstances of the college sophomore’s passing, nor specifically identify the teen by name, they did not consider the 19-year-old’s death to be suspicious.
Police further stated that they were not investigating the 19-year-old’s death as a homicide. Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office will ultimately determine the cause of death – a process that can take months.
In a post on Facebook, Aguilera’s mother, Stephanie Rodriguez, questioned the authorities’ initial findings regarding her daughter’s death.
‘This was not accidental,’ a portion of the post read. ‘Someone killed my Brie and gave all the group of friends a lot of time to come up with the same story. My daughter would not jump 17 stories from a building, and to be labeling this as a suicide is insane.’
Texas A&M student mother alleges police inconsistencies
Rodrigue claims officers told her that Aguilera jumped from the 17th floor of an off-campus apartment building, which she sees as unlikely.
‘There are a lot of inconsistencies with the story,’ Rodriguez told KSAT.com. ‘He told me they said she jumped, and then he told me that the friends said they didn’t know her whereabouts.’
Rodriguez stressed to KSAT that her daughter wasn’t suicidal, and was instead hopeful about becoming a lawyer some day.
She believes at least one of the 15 people inside the apartment at the time of her death knows more about the tragedy. Furthermore, she thinks the text messages on her daughter’s phone may be the key to solving the mystery of Brianna’s death.
‘There was a fight that happened between my daughter and another girl, and they were all staying in the same apartment that I have actual text messages of, and the detective just disregarded them,’ Rodriguez said.
Aguilera was among many students in Austin for Friday’s Texas-Texas A&M game, where the Longhorns upset the previously undefeated Aggies.
