Yujun Ren, Philadelphia man shoots & kills his girlfriend, Yuan Yuan Lu trying to break up with man, hours after reporting him for sexually assaulting her only for him to stalk her and gun her down outside her Levittown residence in Bristol Township, Bucks County.
A Philadelphia man is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend just hours after the the woman filing a police complaint stating he had sexually assaulted her.
The woman, identified as 28-year-old Yuan Yuan Lu, was found shot and killed in a car in Levittown on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, after 32-year-old Yujun Ren turned himself in to the Bristol Township Police Department.
Victim had sought to end relationship with man she feared and who she accused of sexual assault
The victim had been in a relationship with Ren and had attempted to end the relationship with Yuan Lu reporting the man to the Philadelphia Police Department on Saturday, Feb. 7, for sexual assault according to Bucks County prosecutors.
Just hours after going to police, evidence showed Ren stalking Yuan Lu’s vehicle before fatally shooting in her vehicle early Sunday morning according to Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan.
Ring camera at a Philadelphia address showed Ren driving into the frame of Yuan Lu’s white SUV, with his silver sedan followed her home before fatally shooting Lu just on 5.40 a.m, according to NBC10.
Boyfriend admits shooting girlfriend but insists it was an ‘accident’
During police interviews, Ren admitted standing outside her car and shooting Yuang Lu through the front driver’s side window while calling the shooting an accident after pulling his gun from his waistband to scare her after she allegedly said some ‘hurtful things and took their cats and dogs,’ according to the arrest affidavit obtained by FOX29.
Yuan Lu according to arresting documents decided to end their relationship by silently leaving the man’s South Philadelphia home, Saturday and blocking all communication with Ren.
‘The victim reported she was afraid of Ren and mentioned he had a firearm and carried it everywhere.’
Investigators say Ren had a concealed carry permit and a 9mm handgun registered to his name.
Girlfriend feared gun toting boyfriend
Peter Gevaras, Lu’s neighbor, said that she had expressed concerns to him and his wife in the past and that she mentioned that her boyfriend usually carried a gun.
‘This is devastating, really, to us,’ Gevaras told NBC10. ‘She was really a nice person. My wife, she was calling my wife on the phone, you know, because she didn’t have no family here.’
Added another neighbor, Dan Bogan, ‘It’s tragic. She was trying to get out. She was trying to do the right thing.’
Upon his arrest, Ren was charged with criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, and stalking.
Ren has been denied bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, court records showed.
