‘They were very much in love….’ A 26 year old Florida man shot dead his pregnant trans partner along with their unborn child before then fatally shooting themselves in a suspected murder suicide, police stated over the weekend.
Riley John Groover, of Winter Haven fatally shot his eight month pregnant boyfriend, Camdyn Rider, multiple times before then shooting and killing himself just after 7 p.m. Friday night according to Polk County deputies.
Deputies said the incident happened outside in a neighborhood in front of several people near their home on Central Avenue West.
Prior domestic violence arrests
Family members told deputies that the couple had argued in the past, with arguments becoming physical. Nevertheless, none of the incidents were reported to law enforcement.
‘This was a violent and horrific double murder that ended the lives of an 21-year-old woman who was 8 months pregnant, and her unborn baby. When the suspect became enraged, family members and neighbors did everything they could to help her get away from him. Please keep this family in your prayers,’ said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
Groover reportedly has prior arrests for aggravated assault and domestic violence FOX35 reported.

Fractured love
Groover and Rider were engaged to be married and were deeply in love, according to Groover’s mother.
The mother conceded that their relationship was not without its challenges, suggesting that they frequently argued over household responsibilities.
‘They loved each other very much,’ she told WTSP, adding, ‘It could be a volatile relationship. They argued a lot about work around the house where we all lived.’
She suspects that these frequent arguments may have contributed to the tragic outcome.
Posted Rider on their Facebook wall a day before the murder suicide: ‘You can’t be in a relationship and still make other people feel like they got a chance with you.’
