Heather Piper a Colorado movie goer has told of being savagely beaten up by a group of teens after asking them to ‘quiet down’ during a film screening.

The attack happened at the Century 16 Belmar theater, in Lakewood as she attended the movies with friends on Tuesday.

The beating happened after the end of the movie when Piper found herself ambushed by one of the teens.

Told the battered woman via  CBS Local, ‘They were crawling over seats and yelling,’

Piper said she repeatedly asked the teens to be quiet before yelling at them to ‘shush’, but the group ignored her pleas.

Eventually, another movie goer got security and the teens finally began behaving themselves.

But when it came time to leave, Piper said the youths were waiting for her.

Told Piper, ‘She was screaming and just punched me on the side of the head’.

Piper’s friends ran inside for help, as the assault continued.

At one point, Piper asked her attacker why she was hurting her, only to be set on again,

‘She lost it,’ she said. ‘She started hitting me again and then started crying saying, ‘Well you called me ghetto.’

Piper admitted she may have said she may have used the term ghetto when the teens were being loud and obnoxious in the movie theater. She added she hadn’t wanted to fight back as she is a foster parent and was scared she could lose her license.

A bloodied Piper was transported to hospital, where doctors found she had a fractured nose, bruises and scratches.

Told Piper days after the attack, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever had a black eye.’

Adding, ‘for someone to not have the mental capacity to use their words to express themselves and to immediately have to go into violence is a scary thing.’

Police are now hunting for the teen, who fled the scene after the assault and are reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area.

The girl is described as being a heavyset black woman, aged between 16 and 20.

If and when the suspect is caught, Lakewood Police said the teen will likely face felony charges. Welcome to a brave new America …
