What led to Dr John Lunetta shooting dead his girlfriend and their baby son in a murder suicide at the American Red Cross doctor’s Las Vegas home?
Dr John Henry Lunetta a 40 year old Nevada medical director of the American Red Cross has shot dead his 35 year old girlfriend, their one year old baby son, before then shooting himself dead in a suspected murder suicide.
Las Vegas police identified the murdered girlfriend as Karen McMullen Jackson, while telling the couple’s one year old son, John Jr. would have turned one on Wednesday.
Also discovered at the couple’s Las Vegas home, located at the 10300 block of Numaga Road, near South Rainbow Road and West Cactus Avenue, was the family pet dog which had also been shot dead.
A report via Las Vegas Review Journaltold notice of the carnage came Monday night after concerned relatives had requested a welfare check.
The murder suicide comes after police had recently been called to the couple’s home over a custodial argument, but ‘not a physical one’.
A police report noted Lunetta owned a gun legally.

According to news3lv, Dr John Lunetta worked as the medical director for the Nevada region with a focus on their blood services.
Matters first came to the fore circa 7.40pm Monday night, when relatives requested a welfare check.
Neighbors said Lunetta had a reputation for having had many women over to the house before Jackson moved in about a year and a half ago.
While saying they never saw the couple fight or argue, neighbors expressed disbelief the man was capable of murder in the grizzly episode of domestic violence.

However rumors had emerged that Lunetta was controlling with the couple argued a lot, told neighbors.
Told neighbor, Denise Bernardo, ‘This is deranged. He must have snapped’.
Reflected one neighbor, ‘That’s why I don’t understand the rage of the individual,’
Adding, ‘It’s unfortunate what triggered it. Was it the barking? Was it the crying? What triggered it? We don’t know why he did this.’
They also saw a moving truck in front of the home over the weekend and wondered whether Jackson was leaving.
Jackson had just passed a certification test to become a family nurse practitioner.

John Lunetta had a fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in blood banking and transfusions and received a medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He studied genetics at Washington University in St. Louis and in Alaska.
The girlfriend’s SUV, still parked backward in front of the home, had a stack of nursing textbooks in the back seat next to a baby’s car seat.
Jackson was an Air Force veteran, neighbors said. Police have said the woman’s 10-year-old daughter from a previous relationship was not home when her family was killed and is now with other family members.
Officers say the bodies may have been inside the home for a day.
Come Wednesday, a small bouquet of orange and yellow flowers and a small stuffed panda bear sat in front of the home. The front door had a seal from the Clark County coroner’s office prohibiting entry as family, friends and neighbors try to make sense of the tragedy…
