How George Pazos an Ohio man accused of raping a prostitute and forcing her to perform a sex act on a dog came to avoid an onerous sentence. A right decision?
George Pazos a 49 year old Cincinnati, Ohio man has been sentenced to just two years jail after raping a prostitute and forcing her to perform a sex act on a dog.
The man who had initially faced up to 22 years jail according to the Cincinnati Enquirer pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault in a deal that saw a rape charge dropped against him.
Ironically, the man had tried to tried to withdraw his guilty plea at the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court in Cincinnati, Ohio and begged the judge to let him take care of his beloved pets before he headed to jail.
Cited court documents said Pazos ‘engage[d] in sexual intercourse for pay’ with a woman on January 1, before he threatened her, tied her up and raped her.’
According to the dailymail, Pazos also forced her to perform a sex act on his dog – the same pet he mentioned after his sentencing on Tuesday, when he told Judge Patrick Dinkelacker he wouldn’t be able to find someone to care for the animal while he was in prison.
During trial proceedings, Pazos’ attorney, James Bogen, said the woman’s account of what happened changed at least once. Bogen noted that few, if any, rape cases are resolved with plea deals that don’t require a defendant to register as a sex offender.
‘Obviously, the accusations were very disturbing,‘ Bogen said. ‘At the same time, we felt we had a strong defense to them.’
Pazos was charged with rape at least three times before, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. He was acquitted twice, and a grand jury failed to indict him in another case.
Pazos, who also owns a cockatoo, said: ‘There’s not much I love in this world… No one wants to lose their child. Please let me bring them to a pet place. And I’ll come right back.’
His request was denied.
The plea deal also allowed Pazos to avoid registering as a sex offender.
