Patience Perez, a 25 year old former Virginia Beach security guard and mother of three has been spared from having to serve jail time after admitting to having had an affair with a 15 year old school student. The woman purportedly also conspired to kill her husband with the aid of her teenage lover.
Instead, Patience Perez, to the great consternation of the boy’s mother, was only given a suspended seven month service after appearing in a Norfolk County Court this past Friday.
Charges relating to a planned murder against the husband, Gilbert Perez were dropped.
The former security guard was spared from prison provided she complete a list of requirements over the next year as explained to her by the presiding judge. She must get counseling, have no contact with the victim and register as a sex offender.
Patience Perez would leave court with her husband by her side.
Despite having charges dropped the woman still faces charges in the town of Virginia Beach where Perez had sex with the student at his home, authorities told.
The victim’s mother, who alerted authorities of the relationship a year ago when she saw naked pictures of Perez on his computer, said she hoped Perez would receive a harsher sentence in the other case.
‘I hope that that prosecutor (in Virginia Beach) cares more about my family than Norfolk did,’ she told .
‘We haven’t wrapped our brain around it. … It doesn’t make sense. It’s like we endured all this pain all this stress and for this to happen. Just like an arrow to the heart.’
In an earlier interview the mother had claimed Perez ‘preyed on my baby.’
‘She took advantage of teenage boy that had depression issues, anger issues.’
To date it is still not understood why the woman evaded having to serve prison time. She is set to appear in court at Virginia Beach this week.
