Wednesday night saw a heady display of  downtown cool as Euro’s, hipsters, trust funders, fashionistas and a token few from the media world descended onto the opening night launch party for uber chic Parisian label: Surface to Air. If there was ever a question as to how to describe the ensemble, perhaps it could be best said courtesy of the line’s head female designer, German born, Paris based, Dorothee Loermann who described the line’s ideal clientile as a “good girl gone bad.”

First started in Paris in 2000, the ensemble boasts a compelling story of artistic collaboration within the music world and film direction, as evidenced by creative director/CEO Jeremie Rozan‘s and Surface to Air alumni Aldric Speer teaming up with Justice, Kid Cudi & Chromeo, to Art Direction; Louis Vuitton, Uniqlo & Diesel. One of the films, a Kid Cudi collaboration played next door.

Selected guests included:

Kid Cudi, Heron Preston, Eve Therond, Olaf Breuning, Douglas Lloyd, Aaron Young, Lisa Anastos, Kate Schelter, Anne Pasternak, Genevieve Jones, Daniel Arsham, Becka Diamond, Kim Gordon, PJ Ransone, Laure Chouragqui, Pietro Quaglia, Gordon Hull, Melissa Bent, Chad Hugo, Tim Goossens, K. Tyson Perez, Malcolm Harris, Andre Walker, Mia Moretti, Alexis Dahan, Rogan Gregory, Ezra Koenig, Lisa Marie Fernandez, and Michael Stipe.
