But wait! Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2011 collection was also seen on Modern Family’sJulie Bowen, who does indeed fit the “conventional Hollywood” model. Earlier collections were worn by Jennie Garth and Lauren Bosworth. So what does it all mean? It means that Tadashi Shoji doesn’t just design for Size 0 (did I mention that Kim Kardashian is another fan?), nor does he design only to flatter the plus sizes (Note: In this context, anything over Size 2 is considered “plus size.” I hate it too.). His designs are so well executed that they have the versatility to be worn well by practically any woman. As anyone who has had trouble dressing herself after gaining a few pounds knows, this is no small feat.
