A noted academic and a Lord for almost 20 years, the revealing video has caused disconcert and upheaval amongst kindred gentry.
According to the UK’s mirror, Baron John Buttifant Sewel has a PhD from Aberdeen University, where he became a research assistant in the department of Anthropology, eventually becoming senior Vice Principal and dean of the faculty of Social Sciences and Law.
He was educated at Hanson Boys’ Grammar in Bradford.
He was created Baron Sewel, of Gilcomstoun in the District of the City of Aberdeen in 1996 – an honor bestowed on him by Prime Minister Tony Blair.
He served as Scotland Minister in Tony Blair’s government, and helped to steer the Scotland Act 1998 through parliament.
Until now the Baron now sat as a ‘crossbench peer’ – meaning he has no party affiliation – where he chaired the Privileges and Conduct Committe. It is fully expected since the release of the video, Baron Sewel will step down from his roles as Deputy Speaker and Chairman of Committees in the British parliament’s unelected upper house.
To boot, Lord Sewel married his third wife, 54-year-old Lady Jennifer in 2005.
According to the UK’s Sun, Sewel was observed stripping bare for a drug-fueled sex romp at his London apartment during which he referred to Asian women as ‘whores’ and turned a framed picture of his wife face-down whilst snorting the contraband.
In one instance the lord is heard telling: ‘I want to be led astray,’
Whilst in another of the attending prostitutes: ‘They sort of look innocent but you know they’re whores. That’s a really nice combination isn’t it?’
Ironically the video’s emergence comes just a few days after Lord Sewel unveiled new powers to expel peers for bad behavior, saying: ‘The actions of a few damage our reputation. Scandals make good headlines.’
