Temperley London Spring 2011 – Life Imitates Art.

A few overly glossy, potentially famous starlet looking types* wandered on thin, wobbly, legs, looking as though they wished they’d put on that bowler hat before they left the house.  On the whole, however, the audience was a mirror of the collection: waiting in line I noticed a plethora of hats. Lo and behold, the collection featured a wide array of hats by Victoria Grant: wide brimmed leather hats, fedoras and bowlers to name a few.

The accessories were all edgy and unique: geometric shaped purses with chain belts were among the other adornments. The inspiration for Temperley London’s premier line was Queen Guinevere, although the monarch they depicted was no fainting lily. This was the type of girl to hop on a horse and bring her love triangle to the battlefield. A slinky metal dress with a knightly hood was particularly evocative of sexy warriors.
