As the paparazzi started being belligerent I somehow found myself standing to the delightful and equally charismatic Melky Jean who remarked she was grateful for the turnout and stopped to mention the inspiration she had received by the support of various Haitians when the Haiti disaster first struck earlier this year. ‘I hadn’t heard from my kids (she supports various families and schools) and I literally couldn’t eat or sleep for a week and then I get word that one of our fellows after he himself being rescued, drove 3 and half hours to the other side of the island to find my family.’
As the evening progressed, guests were welcomed by the diva Patti Labelle who stole our hearts (a trade secret she wont be giving away), the equally charismatic Wyclef Jean who between the two of them ended a brilliant evening.
