Fortunately I was able to spend time with the hosts (there is a lord) and find out more about the event, it’s charter and the particular entreaties that such guests bring to the table. First to greet me was the delectable bad boy (must I say more kids…?)- Paul Johnson Calderon who was blushing at the prospect of the evening’s events and the hot new thing in his life that was about to walk through the door momentarily (yes dears- he is pleasant sight to behold, swoon).

From there we sat with the Miss USA’s enclave, and to be sure Miss Rima Fakih is a godsend and a welcome thrill to have on the circuit. Bright, vivacious and dedicated to the pursuit of bringing positive virtues to the world- one couldn’t but be pleasantly thrilled. A few questions in, I learned that it had only just sunk in a week ago that she was indeed Miss USA and until she had won the event was working as a marketing director with ambitions to pursue post graduate studies in law and possibly pursue entreaties to acting (she did acknowledge the opportunities are vast and forthcoming). A native of Queens, who then moved to Michigan it was indeed a welcome respite to acknowledge the gems that don’t always hail from pre determined social gold mines (Lydia Hearst darling you know what I mean…).
