The body of a 31-year-old Charlotte mother of a 2-year-old boy has been found, one week after she had called her family to say she would be home within the hour, only to never arrive.
Frezja Matisse Baker, 31, was last seen just before 10 p.m, Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 at a Quick N E-Z Food Mart at a gas station along Sugar Creek Road according to a previous news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

Frezja Baker was last seen driving her gray blue 2004 Honda Accord, which has a South Carolina Temporary License Plate with the number HBL5984A. Neither Baker or her vehicle had been recovered.
At the time of her disappearance, Baker was believed to be with a man going by the name of Cantbetouched Nuna on social media. That individual according to family members has been non cooperative in assisting the family locating the missing mom.
Come Thursday, social media reported the missing woman’s body being found behind a church in West Charlotte, N.C.

Charlotte Police yet to formally announce identity of recovered human remains

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department had yet to formally announce finding the remains of Frezja Baker. Nevertheless authorities according to social media users had acknowledged coming across the body of a female. The identity of the deceased individual had yet to be formally announced but was believed to be that of the missing Charlotte mom.
Reported WSOC: ‘Officers found an unresponsive person inside the car at about 9:35 a.m., the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said. They pronounced the person deceased at the scene.
‘The death investigation is along Sanders Avenue, which is off Beatties Ford Road. Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene, which was centered around a Honda on the property of a church at the corner of Sanders Avenue and Campus Street.’
The report stated that the located car matching the description of the Honda that Baker had been driving when she went missing last week.
The report also mentioned homicide detectives investigating the scene.
Was Freja Baker murdered?
The manner and cause of the Charlotte mom had yet to be determined and would now be pending the results of an autopsy report along with positive identification of remains.
Police also declined to comment on the male that Baker was believed to have last been with and whether he was now connected to the 31-year-old woman’s death.
Loved ones describe Frezja as caring, loving and someone who ‘would give you the shirt off her back.’ They had expressed that they were clinging to hope that she would be found safe and alive.
‘I just want my baby home, I just want her home, I just want her home, in good health and good, that’s all,’ Frezja’s mother said earlier this week according to WSOC-TV.
Frezja was described as being a Black woman, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 180 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.
