Probably not the pet owner of the year … A traveler in Florida was arrested for allegedly drowning her pet dog in the women’s bathroom of Orlando International Airport, so she could board her flight after failing to bring paperwork for the canine to board the plane.

Alison Agatha Lawrence, 57, was told by TSA that she did not have the proper paperwork to bring her Mini Schnauzer breed dog on her Dec. 16, 2024 flight, WFTV-9 reported.

Instead of calling someone to pick up the animal or forgoing her flight, Lawrence allegedly took her dog to a restroom ahead of the security checkpoint and drowned the pooch — before resuming boarding her flight as if nothing happened, Orlando police said.

Airport worker saw dog owner sitting on the floor in the bathroom stall, cleaning up water and dog food after drowning Mini Schnauzer

Lawrence was flying from Orlando to Colombia. The airport employee allegedly told police that she saw Lawrence sitting on the floor in the bathroom stall, cleaning up water and dog food, WESH reported.

An airport employee later found the dead canine and alerted police, by which time Lawrence was already gone, authorities said.

Cops said Lawrence’s name and contact information were on a dog tag recovered from the scene. Animal services used a chip to identify the dog — a 9-year-old miniature schnauzer — and located Lawrence.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed Lawrence entering the airport with a white dog.

Following an investigation, Lawrence was arrested on Tuesday in Clermont, Fla., and charged with one count of felony animal cruelty. She was released later the same day after posting a $5,000 bond, Lake County jail records show.
