Morgan Alyson Creel, Coweta County, Georgia mother indicted on murder after ‘blow-drying’ her  infant son to death with a hair dryer after ‘accidentally’ falling asleep and the machine still running.

A Georgia grand jury has indicted a Coweta County mom after she ‘blow-dried’ her baby son to death after passing out while laying next to the boy and ‘accidentally’ leaving the machine on.

Morgan Alyson Creel, 32, had previously told responding police following a 911 call in November, 2023, that she had fallen asleep while ‘warming up’ the boy’s feet, only to wake up and find the boy badly burned on the right side of his body and ‘unresponsive.’

Except investigators didn’t believe her story and proceeded to investigate the case, leading to a grand jury indicting her on charges of second-degree murder and cruelty to children earlier this month, WAGA reported.

Georgia mom’s hair dryer story not adding up

The indictment stated deputies being called to Creel’s home on November 9, 2023, and finding the infant boy with severe burns on his right side and attempting CPR in a bid to revive the boy. The boy could not be revived and was declared dead.

During questioning, Creel told investigators she’d been using an electric hair dryer to warm the boy but fell asleep with it on. When curios investigators fact checked the weather that day, they found it had been a mild to warm, 68F in the city of Newnan, where Creel resided.

Further raising suspicions was during a sweep of the house, an incident report noted Creel standing ‘at the back door’ with an investigator noticing ‘a marijuana smoking apparatus on the back porch,’ according to Fox 5 Atlanta

Authorities alleged Creel as opposed to simply having fallen asleep had in fact being under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the baby’s death, causing her to ‘pass out.’

She was arrested the following day on one count of cruelty to children in the second degree but was later released on bond.

But there was more to come.

Struggling to stay sane and sober

Nearly a year after her son’s death Creel was arrested for DUI while on bond, Law & Crime reported. She was allegedly weaving in and out of traffic.

Deputies said they attempted to conduct a field sobriety check, but after a few tests, they called it off for her safety.

Earlier this month, a grand jury indicted her on an additional charge of second-degree murder, according to an indictment seen by Fox 5 Atlanta.

Creel allegedly ‘…did cause cruel and excessive physical and mental pain by leaving a blow-dryer on, and blowing heated air near said child while said accused was passed out and under the influence of a controlled substance,’ according to the indictment.

Creel was arrested and booked into Coweta County Jail on January 24 but was not listed as an inmate as of Thursday afternoon, the Independent reported.
