Timothy Ernest Legard, Pontiac, Michigan man stabs neighbor, William John Allison to death in driveway, before then sexually assaulting man’s wife and daughter as he now faces 11 felony charges and life behind bars if convicted.
A Michigan man has been charged with 11 felonies, including first degree murder for allegedly stabbing his neighbor to death in the driveway before then proceeding to sexually assault the victim’s wife and daughter.
Timothy Ernest Legard, 50, of Pontiac, Oakland County, on the morning of Wednesday, September 18th, is alleged to have gone to outside his neighbor’s home at 6 a.m. and met the male victim, William John Allison, 41, while his wife was helping their daughter get ready for school.
Police say Legard stabbed the man fatally, then entered the home and assaulted the man’s wife and daughter sexually. The two were able to escape to another neighbor’s home and called 911.
No known motive
Responding officers arrived and found the husband and father dead in the driveway with a stab wound to his chest. Deputies located the defendant walking nearby who was taken into custody and remains held at the Oakland County Jail.
Following his arrest, the 50 year old Pontiac man was booked on eleven felony charges including first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping and both first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Fallout from the egregious crime has been stark.
‘There’s going to be a lifetime of emotional scars from this,’ said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. ‘I don’t know how you get over that kind of assault, that kind of absolute victimization of these two completely innocent people.’
‘The allegations in this case are about as sick as they come,’ Sheriff Bouchard continued. ‘Murdered one of his friends and then sexually assaulted the victim’s wife and young daughter in the same room. Even for seasoned law enforcement veterans, the emotional trauma on these poor victims is overwhelming. Disgusting on so many levels. I look forward to him being held accountable.’
Neighbors were left shocked, FOX2 reported.
‘It’s disturbing, you never know what is going on with somebody,’ a resident told the outlet. ‘The individual has to be mentally touched to do that to a child.’
‘This was an absolutely brutal and horrific attack on a family,’ said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. ‘First-degree Murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and kidnapping are life offenses, and they are the most serious charges my office brings.
‘We will fight vigorously for justice for this family and to protect the community from those who perpetrate violence.’
The defendant remained held at Oakland County Jail and was expected to be arraigned this weekend.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Legard faces life in prison without parole.
No known motive was immediately known.
