Tony Charboneau and his new girlfriend, Brandi Luffy murder ex girlfriend, Amy Hogue Missouri woman before burying her body in grave. Victim had been seeking to leave abusive relationship.
A Missouri man and a new love interest have been charged with killing his former girlfriend along with burying the ex’s body in a shallow grave in Washington County.
Tony Charboneau, 36, is alleged to have beat and stomped Amy Hogue, 43, on June 20 and then strapped her into a wheelchair and loaded it onto the back of his car while Brandi Luffy, 40, the man’s new love interest collected shovels, tarps, a pickaxe, and a gun and loaded them into her boyfriend’s car, KSDK reported.
The pair drove to nearby woods and dug a shallow grave before Charboneau shooting Hogue in the head and executing her. Charboneau then buried his former girlfriend, while Luffy served as a lookout according to charging documents.
Victim’s family reported her missing mid July
‘Tony spent the rest of the day burying her in the grave, covering her with large rocks and tree limbs,’ the warrant affidavit stated.
After disposing of Hogue’s body, the couple burned the straps and tarp used to hold the body and threw the remnants, along with Houge’s purse, into a Jefferson County river.
Hogue’s family in Louisiana reported the single mother of three missing in mid-July, according to KMZU.
According to documents, Luffy admitted her role in the murder and took detectives to Hogue’s grave.
‘This case is horrifying in every respect, and my office will not rest until the victim’s killers are brought to justice,’ Washington County Prosecuting Attorney John I. Jones IV said in a statement.
Charboneau upon his arrest was charged with first-degree murder and assault, with Luffy charged with second degree murder, KSDK reported. The pair have also been charged with kidnapping, abandonment of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
Victim of domestic violence
Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobsen said that Hogue’s murder left behind three children, unrelated to her ex boyfriend. The woman according to her family had been planning on leaving the doomed relationship.
‘This crime is heinous, and it was pointless,’ said Jacobsen. ‘That makes it even worse, the fact that she finally got enough and she was ready to leave and get away from this situation, and she was killed for it.’
The accused killers are being held on $1 million bond each, KMZU reported.
