Joe Biden’s niece dodges jail (again) after $100K credit card scam

Caroline Biden sentenced two year probation: Joe Biden’s niece dodges jail time after being charged in a $110k larceny scheme involving a Manhattan pharmacy. A string of arrests. 

American royalty attache, Caroline Biden was on Thursday sentenced to two years probation as part of former Vice President Joe Biden’s niece signing off on a plea deal she took in June 2017.

Appearing at a Thursday hearing at Manhattan Criminal Court, Biden, the ‘repentant royal’ was offered a sweetheart deal on a felony conviction for a $100,000 credit card scam.

The 31 year old apologized for her misdeeds while promising her wild ways were behind her, as she accepted her sentence of two-years probation reported the nypost. 

‘I not only acknowledge my conduct and take responsibility but deeply regret the harm caused,’ she told Justice Curtis Farber.

‘I can assure you that I have made amends, full restitution, completed community service and that nothing like this will ever happen again,’ Biden said. 

Thursday’s probation followed a June 2017 plea deal (that would have seen your pedestrian black male likely getting ready for a long jail haul) involving the socialite princess being place on a two year probation, conditional if (Joe) she was able to pay back the money and behave herself.

As part of her deal Biden pled guilty to the lesser charge of petit larceny. At the time of her May 5, 2017 arrest, Biden was charged with grand and petit larceny. During a June, 2017 court appearance, Biden pled guilty to both charges only to manage a year later to only having to plead guilty to the lesser charge of petit larceny along with avoiding jail time.

Thursday’s probation follows Biden making good on her sweetheart deal and paying the full restitution of $110,810.04 along with completing 10 days of community service.

‘I love the children, and I’m still working with the volunteer service program now and that’s been very fulfilling,’ she said in Manhattan Supreme Court.

In most ordinary circumstances, the swindle involving a Manhattan pharmacy would have netted the golden girl at the minimum a year in jail.

According to the nydailynews, the niece’s scheme was touched off after Caroline asked to borrow a credit card from her victim, who was not identified in court documents, so she could buy an item for $672.

Easier said than done.

Having obtained her victim’s financial information, Biden then opened an account at the Bigelow Pharmacy in New York and illicitly spent $110,810.04 between April 2015 and June 24 2016 buying the store’s products. It wasn’t until May, 2017 that the untouchable was arrested.

Biden’s credit card scheme wasn’t the first time Biden – who is the daughter of Joe Biden’s brother James – found herself in a legal mess.

In 2013, the Georgetown University graduate was arrested for harassment, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice after she got into a fight with a roommate over rent. 

Told the golden girl allegedly at the time of her 2013 arrest, ‘I shouldn’t be handcuffed! You don’t know who you’re doing this to!’ 

Screaming at one arresting cop, ‘I know my rights, I shouldn’t be handcuffed. Don’t touch me!’.

Biden – who has been reportedly in and out of rehab for anger management and a drug addiction – also managed to escape jail at the time when the court ordered for her charges to be dropped if she behaved for six months. 

Biden at the time had suffered from booze and pill addiction issues, friends told via the nypost.

Adding, ‘It’s a desire for attention, a cry for help. She’s a very complicated girl who has a lot of feelings and a lot of issues.’

A complicated individual with a lot of issues? Or a privileged girl with too many connections that ensures one set of laws for a rarefied group within America and a mockery of those who fail to make the social and economic cut….
