When Jessica Simpson first came out with her first Weight Watcher‘s commercial over the summer most of us cried not fair because although she talked a mean game about dieting, food and something self acceptance, the reality was that the reality starlet (I know I still can’t get over the oxymoron that reality stars are stars) was only shown from the neck up. Hardly the most convincing way to get us fatties of America to move behind Jessica.
This is a paragraph of content.
Nevertheless in her new plug for the facilitator of good manners, moderation and svelte curves the new Jessica can now finally be seen, a few million dollars richer (yes the oxymoron can pay very big bucks) and lo and behold 50 pounds lighter. Not a bad way to kick some dust in the face of the media.
Reiterates our hero: “I didn’t need to be perfect to get here, to lose over 50 pounds on Weight Watchers,” Simpson says in an ad for the “Expect Amazing” campaign. “I love food, I love life, and I had no idea I could be so in control and so free at the same time.”
Then there were these comments below that I came across on the web that made me wonder about how much weight Jessica really lost….
She has maids, nannies, personal trainers, a home gym and personal chef. Hardly a role model for the average WW client. It’s pretty insulting for a woman who must work a full time job and has none of those resources.
Why is she always covered up? The first commercial they shot her from the neck up and this commercial she has a long sleeved flannel shirt. When Jennifer Hudson shot her WW commercials they put her in a tight, short sleeved dress. She looked great. This whole Jessica Simpson campaign seems very shaky.
