Most dads dislike most of their daughters choice of partner, but this is a little extreme. Hong Kong billionaire businessman Cecil Chao Sze-tsung is offering $65 million dollars to whoever can seduce his lesbian daughter, Gigi Chao, and get her to marry him. The problem is she is already taken…by her new wife and partner of seven years, Sean Eav.
Telling the South China Morning Post that …“I don’t mind whether he is rich or poor, the important thing is that he is generous and kind-hearted.”
Don’t forget ‘and a man’ Mr Chao.
It seems like this loving father has no problem humiliating and broadcasting the love life of his daughter considering he only has her best interest at heart and, despite his own playboy extravagant lifestyle, wants an entrepreneurial son-in-law (who he is more than willing to help in their business ventures…yet another prize for getting his baby girl out of club Ellen Degeneres.
He went on the deny the marriage between the two even existed calling it ‘false’, embarrassing and upsetting his daughter even further who in fact did marry her girlfriend Sean Eav in Paris earlier this year.
An architecture grad from University of Manchester, Gigi is exceptionally hard working, beautiful and even participates in various volunteer services, using her wealth assist others. Why then should she be judged by her sexual preferences instead of her accomplishments? In a world where homosexuals are receiving constant scrutiny the last place it should come from is at home.
And perhaps interestingly there’s this rather interesting remark that Gigi Chao gave Hong Kong Magazine back in 2007.
“My father took a hands-off approach in parenting,” she told the publication. “I see him as a friend more than a father. My parents never pressure me with high expectations.”
Perhaps being raised with such an arrogant father is what caused Gigi to convert sexual preferences and I’d be curious to find out if Gigi, who is a director in her fathers company, is going to continue a relationship with her father after this outrageous act.
To date Miss Chao has yet to publicly comment on her father’s offer but her Facebook and Twitter accounts have been bombarded by people keen to become her friend. Can anyone guess why?
