Le gourmet dinner was created by Chef Stephane Becht to compliment the Rothschild wines starting with a flavorful Maryland Crab Compression with Tomato and Avocado paired with the Domaine Jean-Paul and Benoit Droin Chablis Premier Cru. The main course was an impressive cut of Dry Aged Waygu Beef Sirloin served aside celery root and parsnips mash with a 1988 Chateau Mouton Rothschild (also the crowds favorite wine).
Next, guests enjoyed a cheese course while Philippine de Rothschild charmed the crowd with her acceptance piece. And, the finale came in the form of a wine auction while diners enjoyed a trio of chocolate, table-side Petit Fours and Champagne Paul Goerg Premier Cru, Tradition Demi Sec.
Attendees walked away with French country inspired calendar diaries and Le Musee Franco-American du Chateau de Blerancourt DVDs. Overall, the evening was filled with idyllic French decadence and class in the form of cuisine, drink and the chic crowds dress.
