Speaking of martini’s I then came across prolific art writer Anthony Hayden Guest, who assured me he was not upset with me about what I thought in my mind he was upset with me (a relief you can imagine) before toasting the man and being cordially introduced to Dustin Yellen– one of the artist’s whose installations was being used on top of the dining tables (yes I kid you not). The man was indeed charming, and somewhat taken aback that I found him interesting (I have agreed to come along for a future studio visit), and I remember him mentioning being inspired by science and technology. Which has admittedly whetted my curiosity.

From there it was a cursory gallop around the cocktail area (again) where I regarded guests, wondered what had happened to Sarah Jessica Parker, awkwardly smiled at designer Cynthia Rowley (who did look glam), a quick hello to the museum’s creative director Arnold Lehman (whose home I have been fortunate to visit- talk about collections…) a nod of approval to artist Fred Wilson (who kids is just to cool to look at- I kid you not) before touching base with the bartender again…

One of the dinner table installations.

Upon the completion of dinner and speeches, and a couple of more martinis, guests and this scoundrel resumed to the affairs of the cocktail party- all I could say was bless the dj for turning it on and you disco bunnies have nothing over Anthony Hayden Guest- ever.

To be sure it was a brilliant evening. Here’s the best I came up with photos – hopefully next year I’ll get some more pictures. That said- a stellar evening.
