So here we are; on one end we’re leaving lights on when we’re going on a holiday, and on the other we’re telling everybody on the internet we’re not home. It gets even worse if you have “friends” who want to colonize your house [on FourSquare]. That means they have to enter your address, to tell everyone where they are. Your address.. on the internet.. So why are we so obsessed with posting our every move online? Is it “seeking-status-via –my-status” syndrome, in which we are so hard up for love we wantneed all of our cyberfamily to know that you attend the hottest parties and trendiest eateries? Humans innately seek the admiration and envy of others, but at what point does the cost of allowing insight into your every move outweigh the benefit of letting the world know you are at a party that they weren’t invited to?
