The making of Kasi Bennett, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt’s secret girlfriend takes social media by storm. The couple’s rise and where they may end up next?
Until making a namesake for himself at the Rio 2016 Olympics, very little was known about Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt who since turning up in Brazil has stunned the world as he has ratcheted up one gold medal after the other to be the fastest runner in the world.
With his fourth gold medal in the bag, it wasn’t long before questions were being asked about the sprinter’s love-life with revelations that Bolt has been involved with a self proclaimed 26 year old fashion diva, Kasi Bennett.
The pair, both from Jamaica have been dating going on two years now with the sprinter allegedly telling back in January he was off the market.
At the time, Usain Bolt told of maintaining a ‘low-key’ relationship was a priority for him.
In an interview with the Telegraph in July, Bolt explained that he wasn’t ready to publicly reveal who his girlfriend was because of the media scrutiny.
‘I want to keep it small for now, because I know when it gets out there’s going to be a lot of things to say, and I told her she can’t handle it because I’ve been through the media,’ he said. ‘I understand how you guys are — especially British media.’
An interview with the Jamaican Star earlier this year saw the sprinter also tell: ‘I have explained to her that when it comes out it’s not gonna be as she thinks it’s gonna be. A lot of people will try to attack her so I tell her to just take it easy and let’s make sure that you’re ready for this.’
Low key or not, Bennett has come along for the ride, being present at all his meets and cheering her Olympian sprinter to each of his victories.
Keeping a keen eye on social media, Bennett who has already built a following of over 36 000 followers on instagram, where along with posting a series of tempting selfies, the seductress hasn’t been unabashed about her feelings for her man.
Wrote Kasi Bennett in one instagram post after Bolt won his third 100 meter gold medal recently: ‘My babbbbbbbbbbbyyyyyyyyyyy!!!’
‘Wha dem a guh do yah now?’
When Bolt added a third 200m gold to his collection, Bennett added: ‘This level of pride is unfathomable.’
One recent instagram post featured the couple smooching at a parade in New Kingston in April in which the sprinter referred to himself and Kaci as ‘President and First Lady’.
Of note, recent reports tell of Usain Bolt being ranked at 91st inside the top 100 on the Forbes 2016 rankings of the world’s highest-paid celebrities.
With earnings of $32.5 million, Bolt occupies the number 91 spot on Forbes magazine’s Global Celebrity 100 which also comprises actors, comedians, musicians, models and personalities from around the world.
It will be interesting to see how the couple end up harnessing the world’s curiosity and Bolt’s newfound status as they exude off heightened media focus (and one imagines lucrative offerings in the future ?).

A report via CNN earlier this week told of the sprinter’s mother Jennifer having made it clear, once her son’s Olympics career is over she wants him to focus on finding a wife and giving her some grandchildren.
Told the mother: ‘I would hope he’ll settle down, get married and start his family,
‘I know he’ll settle down because he has said it. He told me many times that he’s going to start his family.’
Which begs the question, is Kasi Bennett going to be the one who makes the family proud?
Despite the glory of last night’s success with his third gold medal, Bolt, who turns 30 on Sunday, has confirmed that this will be his last Olympics.
‘I keep telling these young ones, I will never let you guys beat me, never, it is not going to happen,’ he said.
‘I am getting older and I am slowing down so I need to get out of the sport.’
Bolt, who made history in Rio by winning gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay finals for the third Olympics in a row, hinted that it may be time to hang-up his spikes after another incredible summer of sport. Raising the interesting question, what next and can we expect to see more of Kasi Bennett as the world have taken to the golden couple who this summer stunned the world…
