Daphne Guinness introduced her new perfume, Daphe at Barney's.

creative during a photo op (every photog. gets the same shot; the only interesting pics are taken by street photogs who aren’t controlled by an overzealous p.r. person.

SCV: What made you first get notoriety?

RH: I was definitely in the right place at the right time—-Bianca Jagger, seated on a white horse, at her amazing birthday at Studio 54 in 1977, and later, kissing Mick (I have never seen a similar shot)!!! The NY Times called the “Bianca/Horse” image the Iconic pic of the decade.

SCV: Were you invited to hang with celebs/artists back then?

RH: I’ve always been fascinated by art world personalities (I actually worked at a Mad. Ave gallery for a time) —-and as a photog and columnist, I was fortunate enough to get eons of invites (no computers then) to gallery & museum openings (and a number of artist dinners—Francesco Clemente, for example, was one favorite—with the likes of Daphne Guinness, Lauren Hutton, etc.

SCV: What do u think the public’s perception of media is today and why?

RH: Today’s public devours the media (blogs, hard copy, tv gossip columnists) to learn more and more about celebs (especially when they are at their worst).

SCV: What are you working on now?

RH: My 35-year archive will become part of F.I.T.’s renowned collection. A solo exhibit will open at F.I.T.’s library in Oct./2011. The Lion, NY’s current hot restaurant, will hang 5 of my archival images on their art-covered walls.

My agent is also looking to help me release a new book on style.

SCV: How did it come to pass your body of work was indoctrinated in a public archival display?

RH: Valerie Steele, FIT’s illustrious curator, complimented my work, and referred me to Karen Cannell, the library’s special projects archivist. After an initial visit to my studio, Ms. Cannell
