Designer Kati Stern obviously has a lot of good ideas, and I’m not sure exactly what happened here, as she has certainly demonstrated the ability to work from a theme in the past. She clearly enjoyed working on this collection a lot, and it’s doubtful that this work will do much to alienate any hardcore fans. I would never tell Stern that her job should be to fit in – far from it – but I hope that next time she sees fit to streamline some of her more expansive ideas.
