There is no way the vibe from the Venexiana show can be translated into mere photos and text
. It may not be obvious from the pictures, but this Spring / Summer 2011 show was loud, in every sense of the word. It wasn’t just the pop-punk blaring from above – it was the lip-jutting models with attitude to spare, the gigantic jeweled accessories, and of course, the clothes.
The color palette was all over the place, with everything from neon orange to iridescent black snakeskin on display. Hemlines and silhouettes varied too. It was common to see something like a slinky yellow mermaid-cut dress follow a poofy periwinkle gown, then a thigh-grazing tulle skirt. A few dresses would look elegant in another context, but many more were straight out of an 80s junior prom.
