As astute readers may have already surmised, the problem with this line was that it lacked cohesion. Many individual pieces were a lot of fun, but “fun” is not enough of a unifier for a collection to make sense. Varied colors, cuts, hemlines, and especially fabrics came down the runway in jarring combinations. One dress obviously evoked Marilyn Monroe – or was it the Material Girl as Marilyn? – while another wouldn’t be out of place at a Quinceañera.
