Coming across Fred Marcus, whose prints are quickly selling out by now (27 out of the 31 prints had already been plucked), he had the following to offer:
“I wanted to see for myself how the people lived and to communicate that story. I wanted to capture the essence of a people still emboldened to do good and to also show how a little bit of help from the outside can make such a drastic difference.”
As well-wishers continued congregating, I stood there once again regarding the visage of Selina and was overcome with a sudden very warm feeling of pride and wonderful anticipation that one day she may grow up and serve her community honorably.
It should also be noted the program Goods for Good also supports other disadvantaged communities, including those in Haiti and Liberia.
