Miguel Martinez, San Antonio man and married father of 3 struck & killed fixing broken down car along Highway 90. Driver to face no charges as fundraiser launched.
A 34 year old San Antonio, Texas man has died after he was struck and killed after having pulled over along the side of the highway after his car experiencing mechanical problems.
Miguel Angel Martinez was working on his disabled vehicle along U.S. Highway 90, when he was tragically struck just on 6 a.m, Monday morning along the 3200 block of U.S. Highway 90 West near General McMullen Drive.
Police said Martinez pulled off to the side of the road after experiencing car problems. He was standing outside his vehicle near the outside lane with his emergency lights on when he was hit by a vehicle. Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver who hit him stopped to render aid, but EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. The Bexar County medical examiner later said he died of blunt force injuries and ruled his death an accident, KENS5 reported.
While standing outside his vehicle, Martinez was partially blocking the far right lane when he was struck by another vehicle traveling eastbound.
At the time of the tragedy, Martinez a father and had just left home to go to work. Except he never made it.
Fundraiser launched for man’s surviving wife and 3 children
According to social media, the man’s wife, Shugey, asking for prayers as she tried to explain the unexplainable to their three children ages 16, 7 and 5.
She says Miguel was deeply loved, not just by his family, but across their community.
Police said everyone involved is cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been announced.
A fundraiser titled, ‘In memory of Michael Martinez GoFundme,’ has since been launched on behalf the widow and the couple’s three children.
