A Massachusetts couple involved in a long term relationship, described as ’toxic’ by family members were found dead over the weekend in a suspected murder-suicide.

It was just after 9 p.m, Saturday, January 3 that authorities were called to an apartment at 582 Essex St. in Lawrence for a wellness check. Upon arriving at the residence, responding officers with the Lawrence Police Department came across the bodies of a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman.

Both the adult male and female were found with gunshot wounds, according to Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Lawrence Police Chief Maurice Aguilar.

While authorities declined to release the identities of the two individuals involved in the presumed domestic-violence episode, social media identified the couple as Euridiana Ramirez Sanz, 30, and Edgar Joel Torres, 32.

The Eagle Tribune said the couple had a ‘toxic history’, quoting family. Torres and Sanz were both reportedly arrested on Sept.1, 2018, after police responded to reports of shots fired in the Beacon Projects.

Both Ramirez and Torres faced numerous firearms offenses at that time.

Ramirez is believed to be the mother of several children and the couple had been together several years, and possibly married, investigators said.

Authorities had yet to who they believed was the homicide victim and what had immediately led up to the gun violence.
