Robin Dieringer, Milwaukee mom of four and breast cancer survivor killed by speeding DUI driver while crossing street one block from home while running errand. Tragedy took place one day after Christmas.
A suspected DUI driver in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has been arrested after hitting and killing a female pedestrian moments after leaving home to run an errand, Friday afternoon, one day after Christmas.
Robin Dieringer a mother of four, who had previously survived breast cancer was struck just on 5.30 p.m. December 26, near 41st and Townsend streets by the vehicle traveling eastbound. At the time of the tragedy, the mom of four had gone to the gas station nearby, only to never make it back home.
The 48-year-old victim was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and later died, FOX6 reported. The driver initially left the scene but then returned, police said.

The driver was arrested and suspected of operating while impaired. Criminal charges are to be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, WISN reported.
The mom of four was struck and killed a block away form her home, family members said.
‘She wasn’t doing anything wrong, she was just crossing the street,’ said Dieringer’s daughter, Robin. ‘I told her I loved her a million times over just the day before.’
The daughter described her mother as a courageous breast cancer survivor.
‘She was loved, she was loving, and she was strong and resilient,’ she said.

Captured surveillance footage at the scene showed the un-identified driver had been speeding. The daughter is now demanding justice on her mother’s behalf and hopes people can learn a lesson from what happened.
‘Just because of somebody’s poor choice, you know, that one poor choice, like all the people that are gonna be affected,’ she said. ‘Just slow down and think before you get behind the wheel, because the amount of people that it affects. It’s just crazy.’
‘She has a nine year old, 12 year old, 25 and 30 year old and young grandchildren that all are waking up today and they don’t have her anymore.’
As of Dec. 27, 59 people have died from injuries sustained in traffic crashes in Milwaukee in 2025, police data show.
