Stockton Children’s Birthday Party Shooting leaves 4 dead including 3 kids, which local rappers, MBnel & Fly Boy Doughy had been hosting and believed to have been the intended targets.
Four people, including three children, were killed and 11 others wounded in a mass shooting that erupted just after 6 p.m, Saturday evening during a children’s birthday party at a local banquet hall in Stockton, California.
A suspect in the shooting remained at large Sunday afternoon as investigators worked to identify the perpetrator, officials said.
Three of the victims killed were children, ages 8, 9 and 14, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. A 21-year-old victim was also killed, according to the sheriff’s office.
Were Stockton based rappers intended targets of kids birthday party shooting?
Of the 11 people injured in the shooting, one was a 9-year-old, who was in fair condition on Sunday afternoon at Dignity Health-St. Joseph Medical Center in Stockton.
At the time of the shooting, between 100 and 150 people in attendance, KCRA reported.
Residents who live nearby told KCRA that they heard gunshots for what felt like one minute. They also said it sounded like there were multiple people firing. They said they then heard people screaming for ambulances.
Yet to be confirmed accounts on social media included claims that Stockton based rappers MBnel and his cousin, Fly Boy Doughy, who had been hosting a birthday party for Fly Boy’s 6 year old daughter. had been the intended targets.

MBNel aka Jhonel Dongon a Filipino rapper was previously arrested in 2020 during a Stockton gang investigation, along with surviving a prior attempt on his life occurring in September 2020.

Stockton gang warfare?
During a Saturday night press briefing, Heather Brent, Public Information Officer with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, stated an ‘urgent’ manhunt was underway to find the suspect, (suspects) who is (are) on the run.
Said Brent: ‘Our number one priority is identifying a suspect.
‘This is a very active and ongoing investigation, information remains very limited at this time.’
Detectives are working to determine a motive. Authorities had yet to determine if there was more than one shooting suspect involved.
Stockton-area faith leaders and community members are planning to hold a vigil in Stockton on Sunday. Faith in the Valley is organizing the vigil at 9299 Thornton Road at 3 p.m. People are invited to bring a candle.
Stockton is located along the San Joaquin River in central California. It is located about 45 miles south of Sacramento and has a population of 320,000.
