Unconfirmed reports shared on social media allege the intended targets of Saturday night’s mass shooting at a child’s birthday party were that of Stockton based gangsta rappers who had come to celebrate the birthday of a 6 year-old girl.
The shooting which took place just after 6 p.m, at a local banquet hall near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in Stockton, California, left 14 injured, with four fatalities, including adults and children. The gunman continued to remain at large.

Stated a post shared by 209times on Instagram, ‘According to sources the targets of the mass shooting tonight at a child’s party were Stockton based rappers MBnel and Fly Boy Doughy, the party was reportedly for rapper Nano’s daughter.
‘These reports are coming from the streets and sources in law enforcement, but remain officially unconfirmed. Confirmed: Ages of deceased are 30, 22, 14, 8 years old.’
Of note, authorities had yet to confirm neither the identities or the ages of the victims.
A Google search for MBnel revealed him to to be a 28-year-old American gangsta rapper, best known for his debut album ‘Born To Win.’ He has performed in venues throughout Northern California and the greater United States.
MBnel is of Filipino descent who welcomed a baby girl to the world in Fall 2019. The rapper has amassed over 198,000 followers on Instagram.
Manhunt for Stockton shooting suspect
Rapper MBNel aka Jhonel Dongon was previously arrested in 2020 during a Stockton gang investigation, along with a prior attempt on his life occurring in September 2020 (see interview below with Vlad Tv).
During a Saturday night press briefing, Heather Brent, Public Information Officer with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office stated that there had been 14 victims, four of them deceased. Brent said that an ‘active investigation’ was in place and information was very limited.
Brent further stated that ‘several victims had been transported to local hospitals.’ Victims ranged from children to adults, officials stated.
Brent said an urgent manhunt had been launched to find the suspect, who is on the run.
Said Brent: ‘Our number one priority is identifying a suspect.
‘This is a very active and ongoing investigation, information remains very limited at this time.’
Detectives are working to determine a motive.
Stockton is located along the San Joaquin River in central California. It is located about 45 miles south of Sacramento and has a population of 320,000.
