Was she murdered? The FBI has opened an investigation after a passenger, was found dead aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship, which returned to PortMiami on Saturday morning following a Caribbean voyage with nearly 4,000 guests on board.
While authorities had yet to publicly identify the victim, social media identified her as 18-year-old Anna Kepner, of Titusville, Florida. The teen who was traveling to the Caribbean was set to graduate from high school in May.

Investigators were seen removing a body from the ship and transferring it to the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities have not publicly released a cause of death, and the FBI has not confirmed whether foul play is suspected— but sources are stating she was allegedly found wrapped in a bed sheet under her bed with stab wounds.
While authorities had yet to confirm that the death was the result of a fatal stabbing, social media trended with the teen girl’s death the consequence of a homicide.
Speaking to ABC News, Anna’s parents said the 19 year old was a straight A Student and Varsity cheerleader and ‘the best child you could ever meet’. They also share she was planning to join the military.
‘She had just finished taking the test to join the military,’ they told the outlet. ‘She was already talking to recruiters and had chosen her career path. She wanted to do something that would help her community.’

Carnival Cruise cooperate with FBI as investigation launched
Carnival Cruise Line according to CBS Miami has confirmed that it is cooperating with the FBI Miami office to help it facilitate its investigation.
‘Our focus is on supporting the family of our guest and cooperating with the FBI,’ the company said in a statement.
The Carnival Horizon ship which Kepner was on board traveled through the Western Carribbean, docking at Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.
Kepner’s death came on the final day of the trip. Passengers were told to leave their cabins earlier than usual, according to Cruise Blog.
Authorities have released few details, including exactly when Kepner died or who she was traveling with at the time. Or as some wondered whether the investigation would be declared a homicide?
