Nancy Guthrie found glove DNA no database match as another lead fizzling amid concern investigators may never find Today show co-anchor abducted mother. Officials reveal having received up to 40K tips as the search continues.

Another dead end? DNA on gloves found 2 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona home does not have any matches in the national database known as CODIS, and doesn’t match DNA found at Guthrie’s home, either, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated on Tuesday.

‘We’re hopeful that we’re always getting closer, but the news now, I think, is we had heard this morning that, of course, the DNA on the glove that was found 2 miles away was submitted for CODIS. And I just heard that, CODIS had no hits,’ Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said.

Authorities had said the recovered black glove appeared to be the same kind as the one worn by a masked man seen in surveillance footage at Nancy’s house before her abduction.

Lead after lead ending up as dead end in hunt for Nancy abductor

The glove was one of more than a dozen that were collected from the scene close to the main highway heading through the Catalina Foothills neighborhood north of Tucson, where Nancy lived.

But most of those gloves were determined to have been dropped on the ground by searchers taking part in the initial hunt for Nancy, the FBI said.

Separate DNA found in Nancy’s home also did not match any records in the FBI database, Nanos said.

Lead after lead has fizzled out for investigators trying to find Nancy Guthrie. Last week investigators released three individuals they detained just on two miles from Nancy’s million dollar Tucson home on suspicion of involvement only to release them.

Day 17 in search for 84-year-old celebrity’s mother

In another development in the case of Today show host, Savannah Guthrie abducted mom, Nancy, officials confirmed that family members and their spouses were not suspects in the case following the 84-year-old matriarch’s disappearance.

Sheriff Nanos further stated that authorities believe Nancy was removed from the home against her will. But investigators still have no leading theory about a motive.

In the meantime, local cops and the FBI are dealing with between 40,000 and 50,000 leads, Sheriff Nanos said Monday.
