Who killed them and why….? Ohio authorities are searching for a suspect after a dentist and his wife were found shot dead inside their home earlier this week.

The bodies of Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39, were found at their Columbus home, Tuesday morning after welfare check was requested at their home located at the 1400 block of North 4th Street in the Weinland Park neighborhood, according to Columbus Police.

Upon officers arriving at the residence, the husband and wife couple were declared dead at the scene, WSYX reported.

Suspected robbery gone wrong

Police did not find obvious signs of forced entry and no firearms were recovered at the home. The couple’s deaths were not believed to be the result of a murder-suicide.

Spencer had been shot multiple times, the Columbus Dispatch reported. The outlet cited a police dispatcher report which referenced a robbery.

Two small children were also found in the residence unharmed, according to a police incident report.

The welfare check was requested after Spencer Tepe did not show up for work at Athens Dental Depot. The owner, Dr. Mark Valrose, called 911, telling dispatchers Tepe was always on time for work.
