A mid air helicopter crash involving two choppers in Hammonton, New Jersey, has left one pilot dead and a second critically injured.
The mid air collision happened just just after 11.25 a.m. Sunday near Basin Road and North White Horse Pike near Hammonton Municipal Airport.
The two helicopters reportedly collided mid-air and crash landed. One of the helicopters burst into flames. Police and fire responded to put out the flames, Action News reported.

Two choppers involved identified as Enstrom F-28A helicopter and an Enstrom 280C
Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said one person was killed and another was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
he FAA confirmed that the crash was between an an Enstrom F-28A helicopter and an Enstrom 280C and that only the pilots were on board.
Eyewitness footage posted on social media from a nearby Tractor Supply parking lot shows thick black smoke rising over the crash site.
Another clip captured a helicopter spinning out of control before slamming into the ground.

What led to Hammonton N.J mid air chopper collision?
The FAA and NTSB have been notified and will be investigating the crash.
Hammonton police urge residents and drivers to avoid Basin Road as the investigation continues.
Authorities have yet to release the identities of the pilots involved and what led to the mid-air collision.
Hammonton has population of 15,000 and lies 35 miles southeast of Philadelphia.
