Kelly Sadik, Maryland mom assaults daughter’s Aberdeen middle school classmate accused of bullying her seventh grade daughter as questions are raised.

When parents (literally) take matters into their own hands… A Maryland mother is alleged to have assaulted a female student she claimed had bullied her seventh grade daughter at an Aberdeen school earlier this week.

Kelly Sadik, 41, upon her arrest on Tuesday was charged with second-degree assault and trespassing according to Aberdeen Police.

According to cops, Sadik arrived at Aberdeen Middle School at about 8:15 a.m. and was buzzed into the building through the school’s intercom system. But instead of going to the office to sign in, the irate mom went straight to the seventh grade classrooms and confronted one of her daughter’s classmates.

‘A verbal confrontation ensued. [Sadik] at one point placed their hands on the child, grabbing them in an effort to continue the conversation,’ Capt. Will Reiber told WJZ. ‘Ultimately, a teacher was able to intervene.’

Authorities said the other girl ended up with bruising on her arm following the ‘encounter.’

Concerned parents and guardians point fingers at school

‘By and large, the protocols that are put in place by the schools are set to deter people from doing this,’ Reiber said. ‘This is the first, that I can think of, where we’ve had to go in for something where a parent came and confronted a child.’

The other girl’s grandmother, Judy Kibler, said that maybe the protocols aren’t good enough.

‘I don’t get how she got that far without somebody doing something,’ she told WJZ. ‘I’m a grandparent. I know when you go to the school, you get buzzed in, you go straight to the office.’

Kibler said her granddaughter had also been a victim of bullying at the school, and that the issue needs to be addressed.

‘It’s not just my granddaughter I’m concerned about, I’m concerned about all these kids,’ Kibler said. ‘If [the school or school district is] doing something, tell us what you’re doing. I’ve asked that question so many times.’

Reiber said if your child is struggling with issues like bullying or harrassment at school, to reach out to the school’s administration to start steps to remediate the problem.

Sadik is due in court in May.
