Which historical sites to visit in the USA during your travels? The history of the USA is changing in a fast-paced and near-constant manner and there are certain crowd favorites worth checking out. 

With new sights appearing all over the nation and old ones constantly changing, it can be hard to keep up with what’s happening. So which historical sites should you visit?

There are countless historical sites throughout the USA, but they are concentrated most heavily in certain areas. 

Here are some things you should see while traveling in the USA:

1. Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor was the site of the largest naval attack in history. 

The attack killed more than 2,400 Americans, and the US was forced to enter World War II. 

Today, you can book pearl harbor tickets, look around this famous site, and get some insight into the history of the attack. 

2. Gettysburg National Park

One of the most famous battles in United States History took place on this site at the end of the American Civil War. 

Around 50,000 men died during this three-day battle, and President Abraham Lincoln was present to observe it. 

Today, you can visit the battlefield for yourself and learn about the fighting that took place there. 

3. Mount Rushmore National Memorial

This statue has become a symbol all over the United States because of its historical significance. 

The artist who created this famous monument, American sculptor and artist, Gutzon Borglum, was inspired by Theodore Roosevelt’s policy toward conservation and his ideas about fairness.

4. Plymouth Rock

This rock was brought over to America by the Pilgrims, who established the first colony in New England. 

It is located on top of Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts, where it has been protected and cared for by various groups. 

5. Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon is the home of George Washington, one of the most important figures in United States History. 

Today, you can tour this house that played an important role in our country’s history. 

6. The Washington Monument

The Washington Monument has the tallest monument in the world, standing over 555 feet tall. 

It was built in honor of George Washington and the start of our country’s political system, as well as other historical figures. 

7. Ellis Island-Part of Statue of Liberty National Park

This area was home to thousands of immigrants who spent months waiting to get into America during its height. 

You can visit this event that brought over millions to our country and see a portion of the Statue of Liberty that housed those who tried to enter America but were turned away on this hallowed ground. 

8. Port of New York-Harbor Tours

This port is the largest in America and was made famous in 1776 during the American Revolutionary War

From here, George Washington and his army were transported across the ocean to fight for our country’s freedom. 

Port of New York Harbor Tours are a big part of why people visit this port, and they offer various tours to see the different areas of this harbor where so much important history occurred.
