Christian Dorscht’s family to sue Los Angeles City after an off duty LAPD police officer fired a gunshot at their son after crossing the man’s front lawn.

Protests have erupted after video was released (see below) showing an off duty LAPD cop firing off his gun after a group of Anaheim teens walked on to the man’s front lawn.

Involved in the scuffle was 13 year old Latino boy, Christian Dorscht who incurred bruising as the cop tussled with the boy.

The incident began as part of an ongoing dispute between the officer and teens from nearby Loara High School, with the Los Angeles police officer upset that the teens were walking across his lawn.

Cell phone video captured the Tuesday afternoon fracas which according to the teens escalated after the LAPD cop allegedly called one of the girls in the group a ‘cxnt’.

It was at this moment that Christian said he came to the girl’s defense, before matters soon escalated.

As the officer tussled with the boy, the officer soon finds himself surrounded by other teens. At one point the officer takes out his gun and fires off a single gun-shot. No one was hurt.

A report via the Orange County Weekly told of Christian allegedly threatening to ‘shoot’ the officer. Claims that the child’s father, Johnny Dorscht vehemently refuted.

Instead the father said his son threatened to sue the officer, not shoot him, claims the son is audibly heard denying during the video.

Screams the son at one point, ‘I didn’t say that. Why you lying? I said, “I’m going to sue you”.’

Pursuant to the incident, Dorscht and an unnamed 15 year old boy were arrested. Christian was charged on suspicion of making criminal threats before being released to his parents told a report via cbs8.

Of note, no charges were laid against the officer who fired a single gun-shot during the altercation.

At present it is not clear whether the man will face charges, as the Orange County District Attorney’s office now investigates.

Come Wednesday protesters gathered near Tuesday’s scene, with many taking exception to what they decried as excessive police force.

Shouted protesters, ‘whose streets, our streets,’ ‘don’t shoot our kids,’ ‘shame on you,’ and ‘no justice, no peace, f*** the police.’

Addressing the protesters, Christian’s mom, Alma Jimenez expressed her outrage.

Told the mother: ‘I just want to say how disgusted I am by that individual for the negligence he committed with my son,’

‘My son is alive today, but if he would have not fought for his life along with those other children, he would be in a morgue right now.

‘You almost killed my child. Stop shooting our kids. This is my son. He is 13 years old. He was not armed.

‘He (the officer) was, he pulled out, he reached for his weapon, he intended to use it.’

Christian’s father, Jimmy has since told he now intends to sue the LAPD.

Told the father: ‘You could talk to anybody, my son has very good manners. He does good in school and isn’t disrespectful or anything like that.

‘We’re going to find legal representation and be suing. This is B.S. Even the cops, when they got there, they had all the kids down. They didn’t even go after the guy.’

The Anaheim Police Department have since released a statement saying ‘the videos posted online do not depict the entire event.’

Adding: ‘Our job is to collect all of the facts and evidence to present the clearest and most accurate information to the District Attorney’s Office as they make their decision on the filing of criminal charges.
