Each one of the tables was headed by one of the night’s purveyor and I had the lovely luck of being at Rod Browne Mitchell‘s table. Based in Maine, Rod deals with only the freshest and finest seafood. He did reaffirm one of my assumptions about seasonality and seafood: only have oysters during the months with “r”s. No oysters before fall then… but the night certainly taught us there is much to be enjoyed in the meantime. I left Daniel confident in my new-found seasonal knowledge and, not unlike the dancing flavors of the meal I had just enjoyed, I felt perfectly balanced as I strolled into the summer evening… In an East Coast state of mind.
