Chantal Bacon and Betsey Johnson.

A cursory roll call attendance had the following guests in attendance- Betsey Johnson, (who couldn’t stop dancing for the life of her)Jeff Koons, Ruben and Isabel Toledo, Ryan McGinley, Moises de la Renta, Leigh Keno, Steven Sebring (director of Patti Smith: Dream of Life), Glenda Bailey, Wendy Diamond, Micah Jesse(who always amuses me), Ulla Van Zeller, Sam Baron (Fabrica Designer) and Petra Levin (former Miss Germany) and of course legendary crowd favorite Patrick McMullan who for a moment must have wished he could just dance the night away instead of photo click away…

It was also touching in passing to note that at one stage Ms Smith ask for her cup to be refilled with hot water and lemon- it was equally endearing to watch one of the museums director’s a Barry Briskin happily oblige her. It was in short a brilliant evening that had this author at one stage wondering if only he had a chance to once see Ms Smith play at the now closed punk rock venue CBGB where she would belt it away all night long.
